Music

1. Do you like listening to music?

Sure. I mean, music relaxes me and helps me to unwind…There are lots of genres of music I enjoy, like Korean pop and American pop. I used to listen to classical music as a child, but…these days I tend to listen to rock because it keeps me awake.

2. How often do you listen to it?

I don’t listen to music very often, but when I’m free enough or when I’m commuting, I tend to listen to music... I like all kinds of music from Korean pop to American pop, but I’m not really into classical music. I also listen to music in the background when I’m doing chores or before going to bed.

3. How do you usually listen to music?

I usually listen to music with my MP3 player, I mean I carry it with me all the time... It’s really convenient and useful. But... when I drive my car, I tend to listen to the radio or CD player, because it could be dangerous to use my MP3 while driving.

4. Do you believe children should learn music from an early age?

Sure, I think it’s a good idea, because it would provide children with an opportunity to develop their sensitivity. Plus... it would also offer them a chance to discover their musical talents and develop those talents at an early age. So yeah, children should be given more opportunities to learn music when they’re young.

5. What influences does music have on people?

Er... I guess music helps you manage and control your emotions... I mean, when you’re depressed, it cheers you up. And...if you’re tense or nervous it calms you down. But... listening to music too much and too loudly may damage your hearing.

6. Did you learn to play a musical instrument when you were at school?

I remember being taught many instruments when I was young – the recorder, guitar, violin, piano... But I really disliked each and every one of them! I suppose that was not only because of the strict teachers but also because I was forced to learn instruments by my parents.

7. How often do you go to concerts?

I don’t really go to concerts that often... I mean, there are so many people and it’s often overcrowded so it’s difficult for me to see the performance. On top of that, I personally dislike the atmosphere because it’s so loud I often feel as if I’m about to go deaf.
