1. Do you watch much TV?

Yeah, I watch a lot of TV… I’m always glued to the screen... It’s not only entertaining but also educational... Whether it’s during the weekdays or weekends, I try my best to watch TV whenever I have spare time.

2. Who do you usually watch TV with?

I usually watch TV alone because my parents are always out during the weekdays. But... on the weekends, we watch TV together while having pizza or something. I prefer watching TV alone since I can flick through channels as I please.

3. What’s your favourite TV programme?

My favourite TV programme is the sports highlights after the evening news... I’m very fond of sports because they give me a chance to review the day’s results... On top of that, when I have free time I sometimes watch foreign dramas, especially American dramas, because it’s helpful for my language skills.

4. Which do find more interesting between TV and radio?

Erm... I prefer TV to radio, because while TV offers a variety of programmes including the news, entertainment shows, and movies, radio offers viewers only a limited range of programmes such as music channels or new programmes... That said, when I drive my car I find radio much safer since watching TV while driving is sometimes dangerous.

5. Do you have many English programmes in Korea?

Compared to the past, we really have a lot of English programmes on TV including English news channels to American sitcoms... I suppose my favourite English channels are documentary channels such as Discovery, E Channel, and National Geographic because... they help improve not only my understanding of a certain topic but also my English listening skills.

6. Can you tell me some benefits of watching English programmes?

OK... From my point of view, English channels enable students who study English the opportunity to expose themselves to English a lot more. Some programmes, like American dramas, which are popular these days among young Koreans, enhance not only your English language ability but also your understanding of a certain culture.

7. Would you like to be in a film / play? Why / why not?

If I had the opportunity, I’d really like to star in a film because I’m really interested in acting…I’d especially like to take part in a romcom, but not as the main character – I’d rather be an extra or a supporting actor
