When I was a child, I loved playing with Lego blocks. My brother and I created so many projects, and he went on to collect Lego as an adult, logging on to auction sites and biding on rare sets. The elaborate sets that they have today with mechanized parts weren’t around when I was young; they came instead in a simple tin with plenty of pieces in primary colors that allowed you to use your imagination to build anything from a simple wall to a fortress. I remember sitting in my tree house by the pond, Lego blocks strewn across the wooden plank floor. These were the days when a boy could build a fleet and save a universe, or mine the outer planets for minerals for earth. I think people enjoy playing with Legos for many reasons. After fifty years, Lego blocks are still among the most popular toys on the market. Legos are toys that every parent can afford, and with the thousands of different sets available, children to continue to dream up elaborate structures and become young artists and engineers every day.
