1. What is the relationship between colours and personalities?

Right… It’s difficult to generalise… Sometimes certain people like certain colours… I mean, some people say that outgoing people are into loud colours like magenta or teal, whereas introverts prefer less intense hues like pastel colours or darker shades. But there are always people who don’t follow the rules. For example… one of my friends is really shy but he’s a big fan of bright colours… So sometimes there’s a relationship, sometimes there isn’t.

2. What can we deduce from people’s colour preferences?

That’s a tough one… I guess some colours have universal meaning – like, the same meaning for everyone – and other colours have individual or personal significance. I mean… For most people, red usually connotes passion, or love, or lust, stuff like that… Blue has connotations of sadness or calmness… But there are colours which have a unique significance for me… For example, orange reminds me of my sister, who always wears different shades of orange… So colours have universal and personal meanings.
